This just got serious

The Republicans think they can nominate an inexperienced, NRA gun-toting, evangelical Christian, former beauty queen for VP and all us women will fall into line simply because we're all women.
Frankly, I feel much more confident on women's issues with Michelle as First Lady in the White House than with Sarah Palin at Number One Observatory Circle.
Was it just my TV?

How amazing did Michelle look in her dress by Thakoon? My only question: were the Obamas dressed in pink or red? My TV definitely made it look pink. Either way is fine with me. Red=traditional patriotic choice. Pink=updated tradition, once removed on the color wheel.

Michelle and Barack on Cover of US Weekly
Playing it up for all us gossip hounds out there, Michelle and Barack graced the cover of US Weekly.
The View

Here's a link to the video of her co-hosting The View.
And, yes her dress was off-the-rack from White House/Black Market, designed by Donna Ricco. Sales of the dress have apparently skyrocketed since its appearance on national television.

Michelle the Doll of NY Magazine
"the Cut" by Amy Odell at New York Magazine has nothing but praise for Michelle and her fashion choices. Read the blurb here.
Michelle's Night on the Town in New York
Icons of the fashion world hosted Michelle at Obama fund-raisers in New York last night. Designer Calvin Klein, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and Vogue contributor Andre Leon Talley were among the hosts of the evening that started with a $1,000-a-person reception at the Sikkema Jenkins Gallery on 530 West 22nd Street, off 10th Avenue. After that Michelle headed to Calvin Klein's home in the West Village for a $10,000 per plate dinner fund-raiser.Click here for more details and photos from the night.

It's a Jungle Out There

After the week she had in the press, Michelle turned the tables this past Friday going from being the "hunted" to the "hunter" when she wore this update to the classic safari jacket on a visit to Oakleaf Village retirement community in Columbus, Ohio.
Get her look: With tons of safari jackets in the market place, Banana Republic's version stands out with its clean lines, bright pomegranate color, and reasonable price tag of $98.
